What D16 Toraverb 2 Is For

D16 Toraverb 2 is a reverb plugin designed to place your sources in a credible or fully stylized space, without being limited to classic categories (room, hall, plate, spring). It is suitable for both mixing and sound design: adding depth to a vocal, creating cinematic ambiances, short rooms to reinforce drums, or large modulated pads for electronic textures. Used as an insert for a pronounced effect or on a send bus for a coherent mix, it offers a clean, dense reverb that is easy to integrate into modern productions.

Main Features

"Pristine" Diffusion and Musical Reverb Tails

At the heart of Toraverb 2 is a custom diffusion network optimized to limit unwanted flutter echo effects. The result: a more consistent, "silky" reverb that is especially tolerant of extreme settings. The goal is clear: maintain an aesthetic rendering regardless of parameter positions, allowing for a quick transition from idea to result.

Early/Late Management and Mid/Side Stereo Sculpting

The mix between early reflections and tail is not limited to a simple fade: Toraverb 2 offers controls in the L/R and Mid/Side domains. This approach opens very practical mixing possibilities: recentring a reverb base to preserve impact, widening only the tails to gain breadth, or creating "retro" placements by playing with balance and spatialization.

Tail Modulation (from Subtle to Radical)

Modulation directly influences the diffusion network and the sense of movement within the reverb. From a slight flutter that avoids digital rigidity to a more pronounced modulation for organic effects, it allows transforming the character of the tail. The amount can be managed separately for early and late reflections to achieve a lively reverb without drowning the clarity of the dry signal.

Space Modeling: Realistic Cross-Talk

To enhance the impression of depth and localization, Toraverb 2 integrates a spatial reflections algorithm with cross-talk. In practice, part of the stereo reflections is "shared" between channels, as in real listening where a reflected sound becomes perceptible by both ears. This adds extra relief and a more natural sense of space, particularly useful on mono sources.

Dedicated EQs and Integrated Ducking for a Clean Mix

Two independent parametric EQs (one per reflection engine) facilitate reverb voicing: removing low frequencies to avoid muddiness, boosting a midrange area to highlight ambiance, or smoothing highs for a softer tail. The built-in ducker automatically reduces the reverb level when the dry signal is present, then lets the effect rise in the gaps-a quick solution to keep a spacious reverb without masking the attack (vocals, snare, leads, etc.).
