A "no compromise" fuzz suited for modern basses and low tunings

The Death By Audio Bass War follows the brand's sonic philosophy: a raw, expressive saturation designed to shake up a mix rather than stay tame. Here, the idea is not just to add fuzz to a bass, but to offer a harmonically rich texture that maintains presence when tuning down, playing in drop, or stacking already dense guitars.
Where some fuzzes can lose low end or become muddy on attacks, the Bass War relies on an effective approach: a truly useful blend (MIX) to keep the punch, and a notch filter (TONE) capable of scooping or refocusing the spectrum to find the sweet spot that "speaks" best in your band.

For which musicians and styles?

This pedal is aimed at bassists (and baritone guitarists) who want a characterful and spectacular fuzz, but usable in real-world conditions. It excels whenever a huge low end and a gripping texture are needed: stoner, sludge, doom, noise rock, post-rock, metal, industrial, punk, or experimental projects where the bass becomes a source of drone and saturation.
On stage, the MIX helps keep the note clear and avoids the "disappearing" effect behind guitars. In the studio, the wide range of settings allows recording multiple layers: a clean track for the foundation, and a fuzz track for size and aggression. It also works very well on sources like synths or drum machines if you're looking for abrasive and lively textures.

Simple controls, huge adjustment range

The Bass War goes straight to the point with 4 potentiometers, each designed to cover a wide territory. VOL offers a comfortable margin to push an amp input or compensate a pedal chain. FUZZ spans from rough saturation, almost "dirty overdrive," to a very dense, compressed fuzz that immediately fills the space.
The core of the personality often lies in TONE: this deep notch filter doesn't just darken or brighten, it can truly shift the emphasis of the sound from a heavy, menacing low end to a sharper high end, with scoops that let guitars breathe. Finally, MIX lets you adjust the proportion of clean signal to preserve pick attack, finger dynamics, and especially the fundamentals that make the room shake.
Designed for the pedalboard, the pedal offers direct use: bypass footswitch, status LED, and a sturdy chassis ready for rehearsals and touring.

The sound

The Death By Audio Bass War delivers a dense, gritty, and aggressive sound, with a biting "octave" sensation in the harmonics that stands out especially when played hard. At low FUZZ, you get a nervous dirtiness that retains grain and presence. At intermediate settings, the fuzz becomes thick and very musical for heavy riffs. Cranked to the max, it turns into a saturation wall: compressed, huge, ideal for hypnotic lines, bass chords, or noise passages.
The TONE + MIX duo is what makes it formidable in a band context: you can stay massive without becoming muddy, or conversely scoop and cut to highlight a line in a dense arrangement. The result remains very responsive to playing: right-hand dynamics, pickup choice, and input level truly change how the fuzz "bites."
