The Classic Series: Denis Wick's DNA, Designed for Sections
A benchmark in brass bands as well as orchestras, the Denis Wick Classic range emphasizes manufacturing consistency and overall balance. The brand relies on expertise proven over more than 50 years, with mouthpieces designed to meet the demands of daily playing: reliability, consistency, and comfort.
Who is the Denis Wick 1FL for?
The Classic 1FL is suitable for buglers who already have a solid mouthpiece and strong air support, seeking a full low register, a singing midrange, and great ease in melodic lines. It performs particularly well in jazz, brass band, refined fanfare, and chamber music, when one wants breadth of sound without losing clarity.
Sound and Design
With a deep cup (diameter 17.25 mm ) and a 4.60 mm bore, this mouthpiece produces a warm, homogeneous, and naturally round timbre, while maintaining clear attacks. The 5.00 mm rim stabilizes the embouchure and helps maintain pitch during long sessions, offering a greater sense of openness than a Denis Wick 2. The silver finish provides a pleasant slide and immediate response.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To protect and maintain your mouthpiece, a mouthpiece pouch, a mouthpiece brush/cleaner, and a soft cloth suitable for silver finishes are simple and relevant choices.
