Used on Bb bugle for prescription bells (150mm bell).
You can play without any problem in a closed room without being heard and without altering the sound and therefore avoid any explosion of pots and other hostilities for yourself or your instrument.
However, I suspect the mute sometimes disguises some small false notes that would be easier to hear without mute, but this mute should (in my opinion) be used for learning where (as in my case) after a prolonged pause.
