Denis Wick MUTE RIGHT TRUMPET BRASS BACK DW5504B

Denis Wick: A British Reference for Brass Accessories

Created by Denis Wick, a musician from the London Symphony Orchestra, the brand was born from a concrete need: to produce accessories capable of optimizing the response and sound presence of brass instruments in large halls. In half a century, Denis Wick has established itself as a global reference, with manufacturing carried out by British craftsmen renowned for the consistency and reliability of their accessories.

For Which Musicians and Playing Situations?

This straight mute is aimed at trumpet and cornet players of beginner to professional level seeking a simple, effective, and musical solution. It suits both classical repertoires (orchestra, wind band) and jazz, pop, or brass ensembles, wherever a "straight mute" color is required with precise articulation.

Sound and Design

The principle of a straight mute is to refocus the timbre and enhance the definition of the attack while maintaining good projection. Here, the combination of aluminum and brass bottom helps achieve a clear sound, with a stable playing feel and more predictable response across dynamics. A relevant choice to maintain intonation and uniformity of response across registers without losing control in articulated passages.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

If you often transport your equipment, a mute case or bag can help protect the finish and prevent impacts in the accessory compartment (compatibility should be checked according to the dimensions of your model and your gig bag).
