A PAF Master Designed for Demanding Guitarists
The DP261 PAF Master Bridge is DiMarzio's answer to a classic request: to recapture the "vintage PAF" feel while gaining in silence, clarity, and dynamics. Introduced in 2014, this pickup targets guitarists who want an expressive humbucker capable of transitioning from light, articulated playing to a strong, thicker, and meatier attack without becoming muddy. Paired with an Alnico 4 magnet, it offers a natural balance and a very musical response, particularly appreciated in both rhythm and lead playing.
Intended Use and Suitable Guitars
Originally designed for the bridge position, this PAF Master stands out with its controlled output level: present enough to carry a solo, yet open enough to preserve your guitar's character and your right-hand dynamics. Its balanced profile (treble 5, mids 6, bass 5) makes it an excellent choice for rock, blues, pop, and any situation where chord definition is sought. Note: it can also be used in the neck position for a softer register while maintaining clarity. Among associated artists is Paul Gilbert.

Questions frequently asked
Is the DiMarzio DP261FBK suitable for the bridge position?
Designed for the bridge, this humbucker has an output level of 278 mV and a resistance of 7.69K. Its stated balance of 5 in highs, 6 in mids, and 5 in lows promotes chord definition.
Which guitars are compatible with the F-spaced format?

What sound does the Alnico 4 magnet of the PAF Master Bridge offer?
The Alnico IV magnet contributes to a balanced tone with a dynamic response sensitive to attack. The pickup is oriented towards clear, defined sounds, particularly suited for rock, blues, and pop.
Can the PAF Master Bridge be wired for coil split?
Thanks to its 4-conductor wiring, it is possible to configure coil splits or parallel wiring. This setup allows exploring various wiring options depending on the guitar’s installed electronics.
Can this DiMarzio pickup be installed in the neck position?
Installation in the neck position is also recommended. In this position, the DP261FBK retains clarity with a smoother tonal range.
