Summary of This Score
This second volume gathers a major selection of pages for solo piano by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, an essential composer of the Romantic period. Designed as a complete and coherent collection, it supports both the developing pianist and the performer seeking a reliable corpus to enrich their practice and concert repertoire.
You will find ambitious forms ideal for developing endurance and musical structure, notably with the Sonata in B Flat Op.106 and the Sonata in G Minor Op. 105. The collection also emphasizes agility and precision through the Three Preludes Op. 104 Part 1 and the Three Etudes Op. 104 Part 2, as well as mastery of counterpoint with the Prelude And Fugue In E Minor.
To vary colors and work on style, this score includes character and virtuosic pieces such as Album Leaf (Song Without Words) In E Minor Op. 117, Capriccio In E Major / Minor Op. 118, Perpetuum Mobile Op. 119, Two Pieces, as well as a set of Songs Without Words (Lieder Ohne Worte). An excellent resource to deepen phrasing, voice balance, and expressiveness, while consolidating a comprehensive piano technique.
