A Benchmark in Instrument Miking, Enhanced by CORE by DPA

Already recognized as a standard in clip-on instrument microphones, the DPA 4099 takes a step forward with CORE by DPA. This evolution aims to reduce distortion and open up the sound rendering for a more natural and faithful amplification of your instrument in demanding contexts. The 4099 series is designed to sound accurate across a wide range of acoustic sources while maintaining a clear and precise signature, particularly appreciated by musicians and sound engineers in stage conditions.

For Which Stages and Musicians Is This Kit Ideal?

The 4099 CORE Extreme SPL is primarily intended for situations where sound levels are high and clarity must remain intact: rock concerts, TV studios, theaters, live recordings, festival performances, and rental fleets. It is tailored for drums and percussion, as well as brass instruments capable of producing strong transients. The idea is simple: preserve the instrument's character, limit bleed, and achieve a usable sound quickly, even in dense mixes.

What Makes the Difference in the Field: Mounting, Isolation, and Consistency

CORE by DPA: More Transparency, Less Distortion

At the heart of these miniature microphones, the CORE by DPA technology aims to lower distortion to gain openness and precision across the entire dynamic range. The result: sharper attacks, better nuance reproduction, and a sound that remains stable when the instrument shifts from subtle to very forceful playing.

Supercardioid: High Rejection and Gain Before Feedback

The Loud-SPL and Extreme-SPL versions share a supercardioid polar pattern designed to maximize rejection. This is a key point for live use: you can raise the level without triggering feedback too early, while maintaining a consistent off-axis response for coherent stage presence.

Shock Mount, Detachable Cables, and Gooseneck: Designed for Touring

The 4099 CORE features an improved shock mount that effectively isolates handling noise and vibrations. The detachable cables come in heavy or light versions depending on the usage, with durability suited to daily stage life. The integrated gooseneck extension facilitates quick, precise, and especially repeatable placement from one show to another.

A Microphone That Follows Your Instrument Fleet

The mounting system is designed to not damage the finish: you can unclamp, reposition, or transfer the microphone from one instrument to another. Simply use the clip adapted to the correct instrument type to secure the mount and quickly regain effective placement.

Included Focus: DPA 6066 CORE Subminiature Headset Microphone

The DPA 6066 CORE features a subminiature capsule with a 3 mm diameter to deliver a very clean sound in a discreet format. The headband has been redesigned for lightweight, "one size fits all" wear, with secure attachment thanks to 3-point ear claws. The boom is adjustable (length and height) with an anti-rotation system, and the 90-degree cable management helps guide the cable and reduce mechanical stress, practical both on stage and in musical theater.
