A "From Hell" Cry Baby Designed with Dimebag: More Than a Wah, a Performance Tool

Designed in collaboration with Dimebag Darrell, this signature wah has a clear goal: to offer a wah capable of handling everything, from sharp riffs to blazing leads, with tuning precision far beyond a traditional wah. The "hot-rodded" spirit is at the heart of the concept: a wider sweep, selectable frequency ranges, and an integrated boost to turn the wah into a true dynamic lever. In the limited Black Camo version, it adds a strong visual identity to an already iconic pedal.

For Whom, Which Styles, and In What Contexts?

This wah is aimed at guitarists who want an expressive yet controllable pedal: metal, groove metal, hard rock, shred, but also modern rock whenever an articulated filter and a controlled presence peak are sought. It suits both intermediate players (who want an easy-to-"frame" wah thanks to the range selector) and advanced players who sculpt their signature with their foot.

In live settings, the foot boost and LEDs quickly become essential: you can switch from a massive rhythm to a solo upfront in the mix without relying on an additional channel. In studio, the 6-position selector and fine tuning allow you to place the wah precisely to avoid masking the snare, vocals, or a second guitar.

Controls and Design: Custom Sweep, Gain on Demand

The heart of the pedal is based on an extended range wah complemented by a fine tune control to adjust the sweep character according to your guitar, pickups, and tuning. The 6-position selector changes the frequency zone worked on: handy for switching from a very piercing register (ideal for artificial harmonics and leads) to a lower and wider curve to thicken a riff.

Another key point: the kick-in volume boost, adjustable over a wide range, which adds level when you decide. The LED indicators on the back avoid any ambiguity during a concert: you immediately know if the wah and boost are engaged. Finally, the buffered bypass helps maintain signal presence on a loaded pedalboard, especially with long cable runs.

The Sound

The sonic signature of this wah is made for heavy contexts: a snappy filtering, a sharp attack, and a sense of control that favors fast movements (talk effects, rhythmic accents, expressive bends). The range selection allows choosing between a more biting upper midrange to cut through a wall of distortion, or a lower and wider zone for a more "massive" wah on rhythms. The pedal responds well to foot nuances: you can get both explosive wah hits and fixed positions like a filter (parked wah) to sculpt a modern tone.

Designed with Dimebag Darrell, it naturally suits rich saturations, harmonics, and solos that need to remain clear, while retaining a boost reserve to cut through the mix without excessively hardening the amp.
