Questions frequently asked
Are the DW SM488 felts sold in pairs?
The packaging includes a pair of grey felts, intended for mounting above and below the cymbal.
Are these felts compatible with most cymbal stands?
These accessories are suitable for most cymbal stands. They can be used as replacements or for routine hardware maintenance.
Why install a felt both above and below the cymbal?
Mounting felt on both top and bottom places a felt interface on each side of the cymbal. This limits direct contact with the stand. Mechanical resonances can be better controlled depending on the tightening.
Do the DW Drum Workshop SM488 reduce metal noise?
Well-maintained felts prevent metal-to-metal contact on the stand. This helps maintain a more consistent cymbal response.
What are the intended uses for the grey SM488 felts?
This pair of cymbal felts is suitable for rehearsals, studio, or live performance. They are appropriate for both beginner and professional drummers.
