From the BM legacy to the LYD series: a new generation of Dynaudio monitoring
The LYD series continues the heritage of the famous BM monitors, a historic studio reference, while fully modernizing this segment. With the LYD-7, Dynaudio Pro retains what made its reputation (bass control at low levels, precision, listening comfort) and adds current DSP and amplification technologies to gain definition, control, and coherence across the entire frequency range.
For whom and for what studio uses?
The Dynaudio LYD-7 is designed for mixing and editing in the nearfield, suitable for project studios as well as more compact control rooms. Its 7-inch format offers an excellent compromise: enough low-end foundation to judge fundamentals, while maintaining precise midrange listening (vocals, guitars, synths) and a detailed high end to confidently balance reverbs, attacks, and sibilance.
DSP, amplification, and transients: control serving musicality
Class D amplification and 24 bit/96 kHz signal processing
Each speaker features Class D bi-amplification and internal processing at 24 bit/96 kHz. The goal is clear: control dynamics, stabilize response, and improve precision, especially at moderate volumes where many monitors become less reliable.
Dynaudio drivers: soft dome tweeter and MSP cone
The LYD-7 combines a soft dome tweeter with an MSP (magnesium silicate polymer) cone woofer. The lighter aluminum voice coils promote a fast transient response: snare hits, percussion, slap, or plucks retain their impact and clarity.
Simple optimization based on placement
Thanks to the Position (Wall/Free), Sound Balance (Bright/Neutral/Dark), and Bass Extension selectors, you can quickly adjust the speaker to your environment: proximity to a wall, desk, small room resonances, or need for tighter bass.

Questions frequently asked
Is the Dynaudio LYD-7 White suitable for home studio mixing?
This model is designed for mixing and editing in nearfield monitoring, featuring a 7-inch woofer and a 28 mm soft dome tweeter. Its Class D bi-amplification delivers 50 W for the lows and 50 W for the highs. The internal processing operates at 24 bit/96 kHz.
What inputs are available on this monitor speaker?
There is a balanced XLR input and an unbalanced RCA input. The input sensitivity can be adjusted to -6 dB, 0 dB, or +6 dB.
Can this speaker be placed near a wall?
The Position switch offers Wall and Free settings to adapt the response according to placement. The bass-reflex port is located at the rear, so this setting compensates for proximity to a wall.
What sound adjustment options does the LYD-7 offer?
Three Sound Balance positions are available: Bright, Neutral, and Dark. The Bass Extension switch allows for adjustments at -10 Hz, 0 Hz, or +10 Hz.
What power and sound level does a pair of LYD-7 deliver?
Each speaker delivers a total of 100 W thanks to two 50 W amplifiers. The maximum sound pressure level specified reaches 109 dB SPL at 1 meter for a pair.
