An "old school" vibrato... with a decidedly modern approach

Vibrato is one of the most musical modulation effects: it does not blend dry signal like a chorus, it oscillates the pitch to create a sensation of movement, floating, and sometimes delightful instability. The Aqueduct takes this "vintage" DNA (smooth waves, natural wobble) and pushes it much further thanks to a bank of 8 modes covering both classic textures and more radical pitch effects, close to a synth LFO or a slightly warped record.

Within the Earthquaker Devices range, the Aqueduct positions itself as a creative modulation pedal: designed to inspire, experiment, and quickly find sonic signatures without multiplying menus or sub-functions.

Who it's for, and in which styles the Aqueduct makes a difference

The Aqueduct is aimed at guitarists (and more broadly amplified instrumentalists) who want a vibrato pedal capable of delivering both standard and original sounds. With conservative settings, it provides a subtle vibration perfect for blues, rock, indie, or pop to thicken a clean tone and give the illusion of an old amp. Moving towards higher speeds, more angular waveforms, and envelope modes, it becomes a formidable tool for shoegaze, psychedelic, ambient, and modern textures.

On a pedalboard, it is often placed before distortion for a more "integrated" and organic vibrato, or after for a clearer and sharper effect. In the studio, it excels at doubling a take, animating sustained chords, or creating expressive transitions (momentary) without adjusting settings.
