An Earthquaker Devices Module That Shakes Up the Complex Oscillator Norms
With The Wave Transformer (Wave Transformer Transfiguration Oscillator), Earthquaker Devices brings its passion for circuits with a strong character into the Eurorack realm. While many complex oscillators rely on wavefolding or filtering approaches, this module adopts a broader wave transformation logic: the "Transform" parameter evolves the timbre of each output from a readable waveform to a rich, intertwined, and lively sonic mass.
Who Is It For, and In Which Styles?
This module is aimed at experienced musicians and sound designers who want a highly modulable central oscillator, equally comfortable in techno, electro, ambient, drone, and synthwave as in texture creation for film scoring. In the studio, it excels at building complex layers from a single source. Live, its multiple outputs and CV inputs with attenuation facilitate immediate variations, from sharp leads to controlled sub basses.

Questions frequently asked
What space should be allocated in a Eurorack case?
The module occupies 20 HP and has a maximum depth of 25.4 mm. It can be installed in a skiff case, not exceeding 25.4 mm behind the panel with the power connector in place.
Which waveform outputs are available simultaneously?
Seven waveform outputs can be used at the same time to feed different patch paths. There is a fixed pulse sub-octave output at -1 octave with a 25% duty cycle, as well as a Sub Square output switchable to 1 or 2 octaves below the fundamental.
Are FM and sync available?
The modulation section includes exponential and linear FM inputs, each with dedicated attenuators and attenuverters. Hard sync and soft sync inputs provide tighter or looser synchronization options. The PWM covers a range from 0% to 100%.
Is the Earthquaker The Wave Transformer suitable for techno and sound design?
This model is aimed at experienced musicians and sound designers working in techno, electro, ambient, drone, synthwave, or film music. The Transform control evolves the timbre from a clear waveform to denser harmonic structures.
What power supply does this module require?
The power supply requires up to 90 mA on the +12 V rail and 90 mA on the -12 V rail.
