Essential Information About the AC330E Classic Guitar

  • Generous 17" body size with solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides for ample projection and a great dynamic range.

  • Stage/studio ready thanks to the LR Baggs Element VTC system, designed to deliver a natural acoustic sound suitable for mixing.

  • Careful playability: mahogany neck with "Traditional Even C" profile, ebony fingerboard with 12" / 305 mm radius, comfortable action setup.

  • Premium finishes: Truetone Gloss finish, ivoroid binding, "Huricanes" pearl inlays, "Firestripe" pickguard.

A new model designed to combine acoustic tradition and modern demands

Presented as a new model, the AC330E Classic embraces a decidedly "classic" approach: solid woods, lutherie focused on projection, and discreet yet effective electronics to transition seamlessly from home to stage without changing instruments. The aesthetics remain sober and elegant (traditional rosette, binding, pearl markers), while the technical choices (ebony fingerboard and bridge, double-action truss rod) aim for long-term stability and precision.

Who is the AC330E Classic for?

The AC330E Classic is perfectly suited for the intermediate guitarist looking to advance in nuance and response, while remaining accessible to a serious beginner thanks to moderate action and a comfortable neck profile. Its character is especially suited to fingerstyle, pop, folk, vocal accompaniment, and dynamic pick playing. With its LR Baggs system, it also makes an excellent foundation for amplified rehearsals and concerts, without relying on an external microphone.

A rich sound: solid woods, carved bracing, and dynamic response

The solid Sitka spruce top offers a clear attack, wide dynamic range, and excellent definition, particularly appreciated when alternating delicate arpeggios with energetic strumming. The solid mahogany back and sides enhance midrange clarity, provide a more "woody" and tight bass, and promote a very musical balance for vocal accompaniment. The Hand-Carved Scalloped X bracing contributes to better top vibration: generally resulting in more openness, a sensation of quick response, and controlled sustain without muddiness.

For comfort and precision, the combination of ebony fingerboard + 12" / 305 mm radius helps maintain a crisp touch, with articulation that highlights open chords as well as higher positions. The action measured at the 12th fret (3/32" / 2.38 mm on the bass side and 2/32" / 1.59 mm on the treble side) aims for a good balance between playability and margin before buzzing, useful if you attack strongly with a pick.

Recommended compatible accessories

To stay as close as possible to the original setup, favor a set of phosphor bronze acoustic strings in 12-53 gauge (identical to the D'Addario XT Phosphor Bronze .012 - .053 set). For amplification, a good quality 6.35 mm jack cable is naturally suited to a guitar equipped with an onboard preamp like the LR Baggs Element VTC.
