A DM3 Designed in Tradition with a Contemporary Approach

The DM3 Natural fits within the aesthetics and codes of the gypsy guitar: distinctive hardware, construction focused on projection, and a quick response that highlights pick playing. Its "Natural" look and satin Truetone finish emphasize touch, simplicity, and efficiency, while letting the craftsmanship and materials speak for themselves.

For Which Guitarist and Styles?

This guitar is aimed at serious beginners to intermediate guitarists who want to enter the gypsy jazz world with a coherent and stable instrument, as well as more advanced musicians seeking a traditional character guitar for rehearsals, jam sessions, and concerts. It is particularly comfortable in gypsy jazz, swing, pompe, waltzes, but also works very well for dynamic acoustic accompaniment whenever presence, articulation, and a clear attack are desired.

Sound and Craftsmanship: Attack, Projection, and Clarity

The solid Sitka spruce top provides clarity, a quick response, and a great dynamic range: ideal for "cutting through the mix" with a pick, both in rhythm and lead playing. The laminated rosewood back and sides promote stability and a balanced sound, with a well-defined tonal foundation and good low-end sustain. The ladder bracing (quarter sawn spruce) contributes to this characteristic sound identity: a crisp attack, present mids, and direct projection, all sought after in the gypsy jazz aesthetic. In terms of feel, the maple neck and Flat D profile offer precise handling, while the rosewood fingerboard and 12" / 305 mm radius facilitate fast transitions, barre chords, and pick phrasing.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To maintain the original string tension and balance, choose a set of D'Addario EJ83M .011-.047 strings (the same as factory-installed). If you perform your own setups, having a spare 4 mm / 0.16" truss rod wrench can also be useful.
