Eastman E20SS Sunburst

A Sunburst Acoustic with a Strong Character, Designed for Expressiveness

With its Sunburst aesthetic and meticulous construction, the E20SS Sunburst is aimed at guitarists seeking a classic-style acoustic, but above all, an instrument capable of conveying subtlety in playing. The combination of solid Adirondack spruce and solid rosewood places this model firmly in a "luthiery" approach: carefully selected materials, refined bracing, and a finish that highlights both the wood and the feel.

For Which Guitarists and Styles?

The E20SS Sunburst is particularly suited for intermediate to advanced musicians who want a responsive acoustic guitar with headroom when strumming harder with a pick. The short scale length facilitates bends, barre chords, and open-position playing, while providing a smooth feel under the left hand. In terms of repertoire, it excels in folk, acoustic rock, blues, and vocal accompaniment, but it also articulates arpeggios and fingerstyle well thanks to its definition and harmonic richness.

A Wide, Dynamic, and Detailed Tone Thanks to Solid Woods

The solid Adirondack spruce top is prized for its great dynamic range: it responds quickly to light attacks while maintaining integrity when played strongly, helping to achieve clear projection and precise attack. The solid rosewood back and sides generally provide a sense of depth, with full bass, bright trebles, and beautiful harmonic complexity, ideal for chords that "fill" the space.

The hand-carved scalloped X bracing promotes a livelier top: you gain in openness, sustain, and breadth, with an instrument that breathes more and naturally follows right-hand dynamics. The ebony hardware (bridge and fingerboard) contributes to a sensation of precision and clarity, while the bone nut and saddle help efficiently transmit vibrations, useful for note clarity and sustain.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To stay as close as possible to the original feel, you can opt for phosphor bronze acoustic strings in gauge .012 - .053 (the factory-installed gauge). A guitar humidifier and a clip-on tuner are also reliable and useful daily choices, regardless of your playing routine. The instrument comes with a hardshell case for transport and protection.
