Eastman EU2-C: The Luthier Spirit in the Eastman Ukulele Range

With the EU2-C, Eastman applies a luthier-oriented approach to the ukulele: selection of solid woods, careful hardware, and understated finishes to let the vibration speak. Within the range, this model stands out for its balance between traditional elegance (Classic rosette, tortoise-style purfling) and the demands of musicians seeking a more acoustic, lively, and expressive response.

For Which Musicians and Styles?

The concert format is suitable both for beginners looking for a quality and easy-to-handle instrument and for intermediate players in search of a more nuanced ukulele. It is perfectly suited for accompaniment (pop, folk, variety), arpeggio playing, and light fingerstyle, with stable intonation and comfortable playability thanks to its concert scale length.

Sound

The solid Sitka spruce top delivers a clear attack, excellent definition, and natural projection, particularly appreciated in both strumming and picking. The solid ovangkol back and sides enhance harmonic density: producing full mids, rounder bass than lighter tonewoods, and pleasant sustain. The bone nut and saddle promote precision and vibration transmission, while the satin finish allows the instrument to breathe for a more direct and responsive feel.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To maintain the original feel, you can opt for a set of D'Addario Nyltech EJ88C strings (gauge suited for the concert format). On a solid wood instrument, an acoustic instrument humidifier and a hygrometer are also recommended to stabilize tuning and preserve the lutherie.
