An SB59 Designed to Recapture the Feel of Great Classics
The SB59 Classic fits within the aesthetic of legendary late 1950s guitars: mahogany construction with a carved maple top, meticulous finishes (body and neck binding, ivoroid purfling), and components selected for stability. The choice of an ebony fingerboard and a pair of Seymour Duncan '59 pickups places this model in a "mastered tradition" logic: vintage appearance and tone with the consistency of modern assembly.
For Whom and Which Styles?
This electric guitar is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking a serious platform for stage, studio, and intensive rehearsals. Its range easily covers blues, classic rock, soul, vintage hard rock, and even more modern sounds when pushing the amp or adding pedals. The shorter scale length (24" / 609 mm) provides a supple feel under the fingers, ideal for vibrato and string bends.
The Sound
The combination of mahogany (body and neck) and solid flamed maple (top) delivers a highly sought-after balance: full and singing lows, dense mids, and a more defined attack thanks to the maple. The two Seymour Duncan '59 humbuckers emphasize clarity and openness in the PAF spirit: a round, articulate, and expressive tone at the neck; more bite and presence at the bridge for riffs and solos. The electronics (CTS 500K potentiometers, Sprague Orange Drop capacitors, Switchcraft jack) contribute to a smooth volume and tone response, with usable highs and good clarity when rolling off the knob.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To stay as close as possible to the original setup, opt for D'Addario NYXL 010 - 046 strings. For connection to an amp or interface, a 6.35 mm / 1/4" instrument cable is perfectly suited to the Switchcraft output jack.
