Summary of This Sheet Music
This second collection dedicated to Gonzales extends the intimate and cinematic universe of Solo Piano by offering the 8 missing pieces compared to Notebook Vol.1, enriched with 3 particularly sought-after unreleased tracks. It notably includes One Evening by Feist, revisited as a solo piano piece by Gonzales, as well as two emblematic live moments: Chilly in F Minor and Take me To Broadway, transcribed note for note in their Live versions to capture the nuances, phrasing, and energy of the concert at the keyboard.
Designed for pianists who wish to play these pieces with precision while preserving the original spirit, this collection is also aimed at musicians drawn to contemporary piano writing, blending melody, subtle groove, and minimalist atmospheres. The selection covers various moods, from inner song to a more bluesy pulse, and serves as an excellent practice tool to develop touch, consistency, and sense of rubato.
In collaboration with Films Jack Fébus, Editions Bourgès R. complement the work with a 58-minute DVD: Piano Vision, recorded on November 19, 2005, at the Théâtre d'Angoulême, national stage, as part of the Piano en Valois festival. Directed by Eric Michaud and edited to present as many pieces as possible from both collections, this film allows viewers to see Gonzales' playing and interpretation. Piano Vision concept created by Ninja Pleasure.
Contents: Manifesto, Meisched, Bermuda Triangle, The Tourist, Salon Salloon, One Evening, One Note at a Time, C. M Blues, Chilly in F Minor, Take me To Broadway, Basmati.
