Essential Information About the Eko G-BS50 Stealth Black Amp

  • 50W transistor guitar combo: comfortable power and punchy response, ideal for rehearsals, home studios, and small to medium-sized stages.

  • 12-inch speaker: wide dispersion, present bass, and effective projection to stay audible in a mix.

  • Two channels Clean and Drive + reverb: from dynamic clean tones to more pronounced saturation, with depth thanks to the built-in reverb.

  • Complete and practical: effects loop, footswitch input, High/Low inputs, and 6.35mm headphone output for playing anytime.

An Eko Combo Designed for "Plug and Play" Versatility

Developed by Eko in collaboration with Italian technician Roberto Tittarelli, the G-BS50 Stealth Black was designed to deliver the essential sounds needed daily, without unnecessary complexity. Its combo format and transistor design aim for a clear goal: an accessible, reliable, and immediate amp capable of covering a wide musical range with quick handling. With its 50W power and 12-inch speaker, it falls into the category of versatile amps made to support guitarists in various contexts, from home practice to group performances.

For Which Guitarists and Usage Contexts?

The Eko G-BS50 is especially aimed at experienced guitarists who want a simple-to-adjust combo but sufficiently complete to vary textures. In rehearsals, its power reserve and 12-inch speaker provide solid projection to hold up against drums. In concerts, it performs well on club stages, coffee concerts, and reasonably sized venues, with quick access to the Drive channel for more aggressive passages. In studio or home studio settings, the built-in reverb helps place the guitar in space without necessarily adding multiple external effects.

Regarding styles, its two-channel structure suits pop, rock, blues, and indie genres well, where one often alternates between defined cleans, crunch, and more pronounced saturation. The presence of an effects loop also makes it a good foundation for guitarists who build their sounds from pedals (delay, chorus, additional reverb, noise gate, equalizer, etc.).

Two Channels, 3-Band EQ, Effects Loop: The Essential Arsenal

The G-BS50 is built around two selectable channels: Clean and Drive. The clean channel features volume control and a 3-band EQ (bass, mid, treble) to quickly adjust the guitar's place in the mix, whether you want a bright clean, a rounder tone, or more mid-focused sound. The saturated channel offers dedicated gain and volume controls to dial in the amount of grit and output level without struggling with settings.

For the stage, a switch allows channel selection, and the amp also includes a footswitch connection (pedalboard not included) to switch channels with your foot without letting go of the instrument. The combo offers two instrument inputs via 6.35mm Jack: a High input suited for passive pickups and a Low input designed for active pickups, useful for optimizing input level and maintaining a good balance between dynamics and saturation.

The built-in reverb adds depth and dimension, useful both for giving space to a clean sound and for preventing a saturated lead from sounding too "dry." Finally, the effects loop allows you to insert your modulation and time-based effects at a more coherent point in the chain (depending on your workflow), helping maintain a clearer sound, especially with external delays or reverbs.

Transistor Sound: Sharp Attack, Clarity, and Efficiency

Thanks to its transistor technology, the G-BS50 offers a generally fast response and a well-defined attack, appreciated for precise rhythms and chordal parts that need to remain clear. The Clean channel aims for a clear and dynamic output, with a 3-band EQ to sculpt brightness and midrange density. The Drive channel allows for saturations ranging from crunch to more pronounced tones, with a dedicated gain control to manage the amount of grit.

The 12-inch speaker contributes to a sense of body and projection, especially in the low mids, which helps the guitar maintain presence in a band setting. For guitarists using drive pedals, the combo provides a coherent base: you can keep a solid clean tone and stack your saturations according to your style, while benefiting from the effects loop for ambient treatments.
