"Box All In One": the idea of an acoustic pedalboard in a single pedal

The BAIO A (for "Box All In One") was designed as an all-in-one solution for acoustic guitarists who want to travel light without sacrificing sound control. The core of the concept lies in its IRs (impulse responses) of microphones: they allow adding a more "mic-like" signature to a piezo pickup that is often too direct, to achieve a more natural sound on stage, in recording, or through headphones.

In practice, Eko combines in a very compact format a preamp, essential effects, memories, and modern connectivity. The result: a pedal that acts as a sound hub for acoustic and classical guitar, with accessible settings and a playing logic designed for the stage.

Who is the BAIO A for, and in which contexts does it make a difference?

The BAIO A is aimed at beginner to advanced guitarists playing acoustic or classical guitars who seek a clean, controlled, and consistent sound from place to place. It is particularly suited to folk, pop, chanson, fingerstyle, worship genres, and projects where the acoustic guitar needs to remain clear in the mix.

In live settings, the anti-feedback helps secure sensitive stages, while the tuner with mute simplifies instrument changes. In the home studio, the audio interface function and headphone output allow silent practice, quick idea recording, and content production without heavy setup. For daily practice, Bluetooth turns the pedal into a training companion, perfect for playing along with backing tracks.

Controls, modes, and connectivity: a pedal designed for playing (not menu navigation)

The preamp section offers gain and a 3-band EQ to adapt your guitar to the amp, PA, or headphones, plus a compressor to smooth the attack and an anti-feedback to calm unwanted resonances. The modulation section, controlled via the Mod knob, provides chorus and tremolo to thicken the sound or add movement.

Ambiences are covered with delay and reverb, activated via dedicated buttons and adjustable in time and amount using the Time control. The IR button gives access to 8 microphone impulse responses selected and adapted by Massimo Varini, with the possibility to load third-party IRs and organize your sounds via dedicated software (PC and Mac).

On the floor, the 3 footswitches allow switching between Preset mode (3 storable presets) and Live mode, where you can control blocks separately (IR, Delay/Reverb, Chorus/Tremolo, Preamp) without interrupting your playing. The footswitches also provide access to Bluetooth activation and the tuner, with a very useful Mute function for stage use.

Sound

The BAIO A aims for a more "mic-like" acoustic and musical aesthetic, particularly appreciated with piezo pickups that can sound dry or harsh. The IRs add depth, a sense of air, and a more realistic frequency curve, while the 3-band EQ allows quick adjustment of the guitar's place in a mix (controlled bass, clear mids, tamed highs).

The compressor helps stabilize the level, ideal for arpeggios, fingerstyle, or strumming, and the anti-feedback provides peace of mind in amplified contexts. Modulations and ambiences stay focused on essentials: a chorus to widen, a tremolo to texture, and a delay/reverb duo to shift from intimate sound to a more spacious atmosphere without losing attack definition.
