A Type S inspired by the great guitars of the 1950s
The Eko ST300 follows the tradition of "Type S" electric guitars popularized since the 1950s: a silhouette that became a standard, designed for ergonomics and efficiency. Eko revisits this timeless formula with an accessible and refined approach, offering a guitar with a retro style and easy playability, ideal as a first electric guitar.
For whom, and for which styles?
Designed for beginner guitarists (and perfect as a second working guitar), the ST300 allows quick exploration of the fundamentals: clean tones, light crunch, funk, pop, rock, blues rhythms, and initial overdrives. Its very classic configuration reassures, while offering enough possibilities to progress and refine one's ear through the pickup positions.
The sound
The poplar body provides a balanced response and good lightness, while the maple neck enhances attack and precision, useful for clear and defined tones. The laurel fingerboard softens the snappy character of maple with a pleasant feel and a warmer tone. On the electronics side, the three single-coil pickups prioritize clarity and articulation: excellent for clean sounds and moderate overdrive, and more biting when pushing distortion. The 5-way selector switch allows switching between bright sounds on each pickup and more scooped, velvety intermediate positions, very useful for arpeggios and rhythms.
