The Most Compact Polyphonic Octaver in the POG Family

The Nano POG is the smallest member of Electro-Harmonix's polyphonic octave generator family. It carries forward the key idea that made the POGs famous: clean and reliable tracking, capable of handling chords and complex voicings where many traditional octavers favor monophonic lines. The result: a compact pedal that maintains a clear and usable sound, both live and in the studio.

For Which Guitarists (and Styles)?

The Nano POG is aimed at guitarists who want to enrich their sound without complicating things: from beginners looking for an inspiring pedal to professionals needing a reliable octaver on stage. It excels at thickening a riff in rock, creating a 12-string guitar illusion in pop/indie, or dropping an octave to simulate a bass guitar in a trio. In ambient music, it becomes a formidable base for layering delays and reverbs to create organ-like soundscapes.

Controls, Routing, and Design: Simple but Deadly Effective

The concept is intentionally straightforward: three independent level controls to precisely balance each component of the sound. The Dry knob adjusts the volume of your original signal, Sub Octave adds a lower octave for weight, and Octave Up brings brightness and definition. The pedal features silent footswitching, practical for stage use, and a buffered bypass useful for preserving signal integrity in longer pedal chains. Regarding connectivity, the presence of a dedicated Dry output alongside the effect output enables very musical configurations: sending the dry signal to a "guitar" amp and the lower octave to a "bass" amp, or separating treatments in the studio.

The Sound

The Nano POG stands out with a clean and polyphonic octave sound, offering a stable playing feel even on sustained chords. In subtle mix, the upper octave adds a brightness that easily evokes the "12-string" vibe, while the lower octave reinforces the bass and can transform a simple riff into an almost bass part. Pushing the octave levels yields more synthetic timbres and organ-like textures, particularly effective with a compressor, spacious reverb, or rotary/chorus effects.
