• Ultra portable: compact format and only 13 kg, perfect from home to stage.

Historical Context and Positioning Within the Range

As a leading German brand, ENGL has built a reputation in modern rock thanks to precise speaker cabinets and high-gain amplifiers. The E112SB is positioned as the compact ?straight? 1x12 cabinet in the lineup, designed to complement the brand's ?lunchbox? heads, notably the Ironball heads and the recent RAVAGER IR. It delivers the ENGL DNA in an easy-to-handle and transport format.

Who This Amplifier Is For

Ideal for the discerning guitarist seeking a versatile and mobile 1x12 cabinet. Comfortable for controlled home playing, rehearsals, and small to medium venues, the E112SB suits blues, classic rock, hard rock, and more modern styles where tight lows and open highs are desired. It pairs particularly well with compact heads and moderate power levels.

Features and Innovations

At the heart of the E112SB, the Celestion V-Type combines fast response, smooth mids, and airy highs. The closed birch plywood cabinet enhances low-end precision and projection while limiting stage side sound leakage. The connectivity is simple and effective: a single 8 Ohm speaker input to connect your amplifier head. The compact size and light weight facilitate transport and placement without sacrificing acoustic pressure.

Sound Characteristics

The E112SB delivers a modern ?British? tone: bright but never harsh cleans, creamy crunch with a nice attack, and saturation that remains clear thanks to the silky mids of the V-Type. The closed cabinet adds density to the lows and a punchy feel, with a pleasant natural compression when pushing the volume. The result: a 1x12 that competes with larger formats while maintaining exemplary articulation for band playing.
