An "Axcess" Les Paul Custom: vintage spirit, modern ergonomics

Inspired by the Les Paul Custom aesthetic that spans decades, this Axcess version pushes the classic format into a more contemporary territory: more comfort in the upper frets thanks to the sculpted heel, and a stage-oriented approach with a Floyd Rose 1000. The result retains the iconic character of the Les Paul while meeting the playing and precision demands associated with Alex Lifeson's style.

For whom, and for which styles?

This guitar is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists who want a Les Paul capable of handling dense distortions while remaining flexible for snappier sounds. It excels in rock, hard rock, metal, and of course progressive rock, notably thanks to the split and phase options that multiply textures without changing instruments.

The sound

The mahogany body provides a warm and thick foundation, with rich mids and a natural Les Paul-style sustain. The pair of pickups, Epiphone Ceramic Pro (neck) and ProBucker 3 (bridge), covers a wide spectrum: the neck favors full and singing tones for leads, while the bridge offers more attack and definition for riffs. The push/pull pots on the volumes allow switching to single-coil for airier sounds, and the phase function on the neck tone adds finer, biting colors, ideal for standing out in a busy mix. The Floyd Rose completes the setup with tuning stability designed for heavy vibrato effects and pitch variations.
