A 1963 Legend, Designed Here for Left-Handed Players
Conceived by Ray Dietrich, the Firebird was the first in the family to adopt the neck-through construction and the "reverse" design. This Epiphone "Inspired by Gibson" version respects the iconic aesthetic codes (reversed body, six-in-line headstock) while benefiting from modern luthiery and selected components, to recapture the spirit of the sixties models in a left-handed variant ready for the stage.
Who Is It For and What Styles?
With its fast SlimTaper C profile and comfortable balance, this electric guitar is aimed at intermediate to expert players seeking a responsive instrument. It excels in classic rock, gritty blues, vintage hard rock, and bright-sounding indie, moving effortlessly from incisive riffs to crystalline arpeggios, both in the studio and live.
The Sound
The ProBucker FB720 pickups replicate the Firebird's specific architecture: two internal blade magnets and a steel reflector plate for tight lows, sculpted highs, and present mids, with less muddiness and more definition than a standard mini-humbucker. The neck-through construction connecting pickups, bridge, and tailpiece optimizes vibrational transfer, ensuring projection and sustain. The 2 volume / 2 tone electronics (CTS potentiometers) allow fine-tuning of the tone from crisp clean to tight crunch.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
For ideal balance on this scale length, opt for nickel strings 10-46 (or 9-42 for more flexibility). Add a quality strap, a stable electric guitar stand, and a reliable instrument cable. The included premium gig bag protects your daily travels; for the road, prioritize a hard case specific to the left-handed Firebird format.
