A Classic Reimagined in the Gibson Acoustic Spirit

The Frontier is one of those acoustics with an immediately recognizable character. Gibson made the original Epiphone Frontier in its Kalamazoo factory between 1958 and 1970. The FT-110 model carries on this heritage by bringing it up to current standards: handcrafted in the USA, selection of solid woods, and aesthetic details faithful to the "Frontier" DNA. It is offered in Antique Natural and Frontier Burst, equally comfortable in vintage settings or on a modern stage.

For Whom and Which Styles?

With its high-end design (solid woods, hand-scalloped traditional bracing, meticulous finishes), the Epiphone Frontier FT-110 is primarily aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking an expressive acoustic with generous projection and reliability for live performance. Its L.R. Baggs VTC pickup makes it an excellent partner for folk, country, americana, pop, and singer-songwriter accompaniment, offering clear definition in both strumming and fingerpicking.

Sound

The solid Sitka spruce top provides a very musical balance: a clear attack, wide dynamics, and excellent response to playing nuances. The figured solid maple back and sides enhance clarity, precision, and note separation, with tight bass and articulate mids, ideal for leaving space around the vocals. The hand-scalloped traditional X bracing promotes body resonance, projection, and acoustic "breath," while the long 25.5-inch / 648 mm scale length increases string tension for a firmer, more powerful sound and very stable tuning. Plugged in, the L.R. Baggs VTC electronics are designed to remain natural and easy to adjust: accessible, effective volume and tone controls suited for stage and studio use.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To maintain the original feel, plan for a set of acoustic strings with gauges .012 to .053 (same gauges as factory setup). A strap with standard ends will fit the existing strap button. The Epiphone case is included, convenient for daily transport and protection.
