A "1960" Hummingbird: Gibson DNA, Vintage Spirit, Left-Handed Version

Introduced in 1960, the Hummingbird made history as Gibson's first square-shouldered dreadnought, instantly recognizable by its luxurious look and sonic presence. This Epiphone reissue, designed in the "Inspired by Gibson Custom" spirit, incorporates the legendary features: "open book" headstock, meticulous binding, engraved pickguard, and vintage-inspired finishes, all with a modern stage-ready approach.

An Electro-Acoustic Dreadnought to Accompany, Record, and Play Live

This left-handed electro-acoustic guitar is aimed at musicians from beginner to expert level who want an expressive dreadnought that is easy to handle and capable of carrying a mix. It excels particularly in folk, country, pop, rock, and chanson: clear pick attacks, detailed arpeggios, and vocal accompaniment that effortlessly fills the space.

Sound

The combination of thermally aged solid spruce (top) and solid mahogany (back/sides) provides a very musical balance: a quick attack, beautiful brightness in the highs, and woody mids that naturally highlight rhythmic playing and vocals. The traditional X-bracing, sculpted from quarter-sawn solid spruce, promotes projection, dynamics, and smooth sustain, while the square-shouldered dreadnought body delivers depth and excellent strumming response. The shorter Gibson scale length slightly reduces string tension for a supple feel and immediate warmth. Plugged in, the L.R. Baggs Element Bronze VTC electronics aim for a natural and usable acoustic tone, from home studio to stage.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To maintain balance and playing comfort, a set of phosphor bronze acoustic steel strings in 12-53 gauge (light gauge) is a safe choice. A strap fits standard strap buttons, and a case humidifier helps stabilize humidity and protect the solid top during seasonal changes. The Red Line hard case is already included.
