An Accessible Hummingbird, in the Spirit of Gibson
Part of the Epiphone Studio Acoustic collection, the Hummingbird Studio EC has been redesigned to offer an acoustic inspired by the great Gibson classics at a more affordable price. It carries the DNA of the legendary Gibson Hummingbird launched in 1960, with its immediately recognizable aesthetics, while adding practical features like the cutaway and stage-ready electronics.
For Which Guitarists and Styles?
Versatile and reassuring in hand, the Hummingbird Studio EC suits both beginners seeking a reliable electro-acoustic and intermediate/advanced players wanting a dreadnought with vintage character. Its projection and balance make it comfortable for pop, folk, acoustic rock, chanson, and accompaniment both with a pick and fingerpicking.
Sound
The solid spruce top delivers clarity, attack, and a great dynamic range, ideal for transitioning from soft playing to energetic strumming without losing presence. The laminated mahogany body contributes to a warm midrange and consistent response, with the strong projection typical of dreadnought shapes. Plugged in, the Fishman S-Core (under-saddle) + Presys II chain produces a precise and usable direct sound, with volume/equalization and phase controls to help manage feedback, plus a built-in tuner for quick adjustments between songs.
