Heir to the J-45 "Workhorse" launched in 1942, the J-45 Standard EC modernizes this classic by adding a cutaway for smooth access to the upper frets. Part of the Inspired by Gibson collection, it combines the Vintage Sunburst look with all-solid construction, ensuring stability, resonance, and tonal evolution over the years.

The solid spruce top delivers attack, articulation, and clarity, while the solid mahogany back and sides provide creamy mids and rounded lows. The "round shoulder" body shape offers natural projection and singing sustain with a musical woody grain. Plugged in, the Fishman S-Core piezo pickup delivers a precise and dynamic sound image; the PreSys II preamp allows adjustment of bass/treble, phase inversion to better control feedback, and silent onstage tuning.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

Power the preamp with a 9V alkaline battery. Choose a set of phosphor bronze steel strings in 12-53 gauge (Light) for an excellent balance between comfort and projection. A curved capo for steel-string acoustics, a humidifier suitable for all-solid guitars, and a hard case in "slope shoulder" J-45 style (to complement the included gig bag) will ideally complete your setup.
