This Epiphone 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue is part of a faithful reproduction effort of the codes that made the late 1950s Les Pauls legendary, in collaboration with Gibson Custom. The goal is clear: to recapture the visual DNA and playability of a "Burst" Les Paul (openbook headstock, aged mother-of-pearl logo, trapezoid inlays, Vintage Gloss finish, nickel hardware), with a selection of premium components usually reserved for more exclusive ranges.

A Vintage Les Paul Sound: Warmth, Sustain, and Nuance

The sound recipe relies on the combination of a mahogany body and a maple top (with AAA flamed maple veneer): mahogany provides roundness, low-mid warmth, and sustain, while maple adds attack and clarity in the upper spectrum. The result: dense chords that stay clear, and single notes that "sing" with beautiful sustain.
The two Gibson Custombucker pickups with Alnico 3 magnets enhance this vintage character: a full and velvety neck pickup for blues/jazz-rock lines, and a snappy but never harsh bridge pickup for riffs and solos.
