The Essentials to Know About the E-II Eclipse EC-II Bold Binding Black Satin Guitar

  • 6-string electric guitar of the Eclipse type, designed for both stage and studio, with exemplary ergonomics and tuning stability.

  • Active EMG pickups (EMG 81 bridge / EMG 60 neck): sharp attack, high output level, and remarkable precision in distortion.

  • Premium luthiery: mahogany body + maple top, maple neck, and ebony fingerboard for an ideal balance between warmth, sustain, and definition.

  • Black Satin finish and "bold binding": sober, modern, and high-end look, immediately recognizable.

A high-end Eclipse in the ESP spirit, made in Japan

The E-II series embodies ESP's "pro" approach: Made in Japan manufacturing, selected materials, and reliable components designed for demanding musicians. This Eclipse EC-II retains the DNA of the brand's flagship model, with a refined aesthetic (prominent binding) and an electronics configuration focused on efficiency: minimal frills, maximum results.

For which guitarists and styles?

The E-II Eclipse EC-II is primarily aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists who want a guitar ready to withstand rehearsals, concerts, and studio sessions without compromise. With its active EMGs, it excels in metal, hard rock, core, and all genres requiring tight rhythms and leads that cut through the mix. It remains relevant for cleaner, tighter tones, especially thanks to the neck pickup, as long as a precise and controlled response is sought.

The sound

The mahogany body and maple top duo provides excellent balance: mahogany delivers roundness, mid-low frequencies, and sustain, while maple adds attack and clarity, particularly appreciated with complex chords or lower tunings. The ebony fingerboard enhances definition and quick response, ideal for palm-muted playing and precise runs.

On the electronics side, the EMG 81 at the bridge delivers a tight, aggressive, and highly articulated sound in heavy distortion, perfect for modern riffs and incisive solos. The EMG 60 at the neck offers a rounder, singing alternative with clarity that remains solid even when pushing the gain. The 2 volume + tone controls and the 3-position selector switch allow quick switching between tones without getting lost in unnecessary settings.
