An E-II Eclipse: The ESP Spirit, High-End Craftsmanship

The E-II series embodies ESP's "performance" approach with a level of finish and equipment designed for demanding guitarists. This Eclipse follows the formula that made the format successful: a mahogany body with a maple top for character and definition, enhanced here by a set of Fishman Fluence Modern pickups and voicing adjustment via push/pull. The result: a 6-string electric guitar built for precision, power, and versatility in saturated tones.

Who Is It For, and Which Styles?

This E-II is primarily aimed at intermediate to expert players seeking a reliable guitar for rehearsals, concerts, and recordings. Its shorter scale length (24.75" / 628 mm) offers a smooth feel under the fingers, ideal for bends and fast playing. It excels in modern metal, hard rock, prog, and drop tunings, while remaining very effective for punchy clean tones and precise crunches thanks to the push/pull voicing.

Sound

The combination of a mahogany body and set mahogany neck provides a rich foundation with sustain and a dense low-midrange, typical of Les Paul-style guitars. The quilted maple top adds attack and clarity, while the ebony fingerboard enhances precision, particularly appreciated on palm mutes and fast runs. Regarding pickups, the Fishman Fluence Modern Ceramic Humbucker at the bridge delivers tight lows, sharp attack, and high output for tight rhythms. The Fluence Modern Alnico Humbucker at the neck offers more warmth and singing quality, ideal for leads and thick cleans. The 2 volume + 1 tone controls with push/pull voicing allow switching from a very modern character to a more nuanced response without losing clarity or dynamics.
