An E-II Built for Performance, in the ESP Spirit
The E-II M-II follows the lineage of performance-oriented "superstrat" guitars: sharp lines, easy access to the upper frets, and selected components to withstand both stage and studio use. In this See Thru Black version, the aesthetics highlight the grain of the flamed maple top while maintaining a decidedly modern identity.
For Which Guitarists and Styles?
This 6-string electric guitar is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking a precise, responsive, and stable instrument, particularly comfortable in metal, hard rock, metalcore, and all styles requiring tight palm muting and cutting solos. The Floyd Rose Original is ideal if you frequently use the tremolo but requires a more demanding handling (setup, string changes) than a fixed bridge.
The Sound
The alder + flamed maple top combination provides an effective balance: firm lows, present mids, and a more defined attack, which helps maintain clarity on heavy distortion. The EMG 81 pickups in neck and bridge positions deliver a tight, focused sound with excellent response to fast pick strokes and lower tunings, while remaining consistent from one position to another. The active electronics, with simple controls (Volume, Tone) and a 3-position selector, prioritize efficiency: you instantly switch from a cutting lead to an ultra-precise rhythm without losing output or definition.
