What DeBoom Is For

DeBoom is a plugin for correcting and sculpting low frequencies designed to solve a very common problem in music production: muddiness in the low end. On a kick drum, bass, toms, synth, or even some vocal takes, excess resonance or buildup in the bass can mask the attack, reduce clarity, and weigh down the mix. Where a traditional equalizer can clean up but at the cost of losing punch, DeBoom aims for a more musical result: less "mud," more "thud", with a quick and efficiency-oriented intervention.

Main Features

Structural Split: correct the low end without "collateral damage"

The core of DeBoom relies on Structural Split technology, already present in Eventide tools like SplitEQ and Physion. The plugin analyzes the incoming signal and separates the information into two categories: Transient (attacks, noises, pops, mic plosives, sibilance, impacts) and Tonal (sustained notes, harmonics, timbre, ambience). This separation allows DeBoom to apply EQ curves specifically designed on the tonal layer to reduce boom and reshape the low end, while preserving the attack energy that provides the sense of strike and presence.

Single knob: maximum speed in mixing

DeBoom is designed as a "purpose-driven" tool: you turn a single control to dose the mud removal action. The result is particularly effective when you need to make quick decisions (recording sessions, mixing dense tracks, client revisions), or when you want to fix a problematic track without multiplying equalizers, split-bands, and parallel processing. The interface also includes undo/redo, input gain, and an integrated bypass to instantly compare before/after.

Three key uses: Repair, Reshape, Enhance

Repair: quickly removes muddiness in the low end without sacrificing impact, where traditional tools can become long and approximate.

Reshape: surgically sculpts the low frequencies, limiting typical side effects of overly broad correction.

Enhance: tightens and "tightens" the bass to improve overall balance, enhance clarity, and help the mix fit better in a modern context (more defined kick/bass, more controlled low end).
