What UltraChannel Is For
UltraChannel is designed to shape, control, and enhance a track or bus in a single plug-in. It is suitable for both mixing and mastering, regardless of style, offering a coherent set of tools to clean the spectrum, stabilize dynamics, create impact, and add a controlled stereo dimension. On vocals, it helps gain intelligibility and presence; on guitar or synth, it allows you to immediately find the right place; on drums, it reinforces attack and density without losing control.
Main Features
FlexiPath: a channel strip that adapts to your method
The strength of UltraChannel lies in its ability to integrate with very different approaches. With FlexiPath, you can reorder the main components (O-Pressor, compressor/de-esser, EQ, Gate) to quickly test multiple chains: for example, EQ before compression for a smoother response, or compression before EQ to shape the tone after dynamic control. This freedom speeds up decisions and encourages experimentation while maintaining a unified interface.
Two compressors, including the essential O-Pressor
UltraChannel includes two compression stages: a versatile compressor featuring de-essing and side-chain to tame sibilance, control bass, or let a pad breathe with a kick. Additionally, the O-Pressor provides a more pronounced color and more extreme compression behaviors, ideal for adding character, thickening a track, emphasizing a room, or giving a more "forward" edge to a source.
5-band parametric equalizer: precision and musicality
The 5-band parametric EQ covers the entire audio spectrum with control over frequency, gain, and Q on each band. You can clean up the low end, remove a resonance, carve out a crowded area, or add air and presence surgically. It's a central tool to "make space" and achieve clearer mixes without multiplying plug-ins.
Patented pitch shifting and micro pitch: thickness, width, and depth
The pitch shifting section brings Eventide expertise to enrich a source: gently thicken a vocal, widen a guitar without doubling, or create a more immersive stereo halo on synths. The pitch shifting operates in parallel with a pair of delays allowing control over diffusion and pushing creativity, with the possibility to route the signal back to other modules for more complex textures while staying within a single channel strip.
Soft saturation and transformer emulation: the analog touch
The output module includes an analog transformer emulation that can be driven into saturation. Used subtly, it helps better define signals rich in low end and adds a sense of "texture." More pronounced, it recreates a characteristic transformer core saturation, useful for adding character, density, and a slight controlled aggressiveness depending on the source.
Production-oriented presets: immediate time savings
With over 200 presets, UltraChannel offers effective starting points for many sources: kick, snare, bass, piano, strings, synths, vocals, etc. They allow you to quickly get a sonic direction, then refine according to the mix context. Ideal for speeding up a mix, unifying a session, or discovering inspiring processing approaches.

Questions frequently asked
Is UltraChannel compatible with macOS Apple Silicon and Windows 10?
Compatibility covers macOS 10.14 and later on Intel and Apple Silicon processors, as well as Windows 10 and later versions. The software is provided via download.
How does FlexiPath routing work in Eventide UltraChannel?
FlexiPath allows rearranging by drag and drop the O-Pressor, compressor/de-esser, EQ, and Gate. This chain can place the EQ before compression, or invert the order depending on the desired processing.
Can this plug-in treat vocal sibilance?
The compressor includes a dedicated de-essing function to control sibilance. Its side-chain also allows adapting detection to the processed source.
How many EQ bands are available?
The parametric equalizer has 5 bands, each with controls for frequency, gain, and Q.
Does the pitch shifting section allow widening a voice or a guitar?
The pitch shifting section uses a pair of delays to thicken a voice or widen a guitar. Sending the signal back to other modules enables creating more elaborate textures. The output module adds transformer emulation, usable up to saturation.
