A Matrix Processor Designed for Fixed Installations and Multi-Zone Control
In a modern audio installation, the matrix is the system's "brain": it allows routing multiple sources to multiple zones while maintaining level consistency, optimal intelligibility, and clear priority rules. This 8x8 digital matrix mixer fits this logic by combining routing, DSP processing, and useful automation functions in a single device. Matrix Routing and Level Control
With 8 mic/line inputs and 8 outputs in full matrix mixing, you can build custom mixes per zone with precise gain control. The front panel knobs provide quick access to the mic input gain, convenient for on-site adjustments without always needing a computer.
Equalization, Filters, and Bandwidth Management
The built-in equalization and filters facilitate adaptation to the room, microphones, and speakers. You have a 3-band parametric equalizer as well as high-pass and low-pass filters to clean up the low spectrum, reduce unwanted noise, and improve intelligibility. On the output side, a 5-band parametric equalizer per channel allows fine-tuning each zone independently, whether to correct room resonance or harmonize multiple sound systems.
Crossover and Filter Slopes
For multi-way systems or setups with subwoofers, the crossover offers slopes from 6 dB/octave up to 24 dB/octave with different alignments (Butterworth, Bessel, Linkwitz-Riley ). This enables adjustment of the crossover transition, perceived phase, and system coherence according to the venue's constraints and the playback equipment.
Dynamics: Safety, Listening Comfort, and Level Control
The DSP includes essential tools to stabilize a system: noise gate to reduce ambient noise when microphones are open, peak limiter to protect the audio chain from peaks, and an RMS compressor with selectable ratio to homogenize speech or smooth background music. The feedback suppressor (Mic input only) completes the set when acoustics are challenging or microphones are close to speakers.
Automation: Priority, Gain Sharing, and Intelligibility
The automation functions are especially useful in conferences: the configurable NOM attenuation helps maintain controlled background noise when multiple microphones are active, the gain sharing algorithm intelligently distributes level among open microphones, and the priority ducking allows a priority microphone to override music or another source with consistent and repeatable behavior.
Time Alignment and Listening Comfort
The adjustable delay time up to 380 ms per output channel is used to align zones (delays between rooms, delays on distribution lines, distance compensation) and improve the sense of coherence between multiple playback points.
Integration, Control, and Operational Safety
The device offers an LCD display and control options designed for integration: 4 input contacts for 4 additional selections with priority configuration, as well as 4 digital output ports to trigger external devices. Simultaneous control of up to 32 units via PC software facilitates multi-room deployments. For operation, a security lock helps prevent accidental adjustments, and connectivity via TCP/IP, RS 485, and USB allows integration into various remote control environments (RS485 provided as an option).
