Essential Information About the Fender American Professional Classic Jazz Bass Guitar

  • Two Coastline '62 Single-Coil Jazz Bass Pickups: vintage tone, depth, and clear articulation, ideal from studio to stage.

  • Maple Neck with Modern "C" Profile: immediate playability and modern comfort for long playing sessions without fatigue.

  • Classic Jazz Bass Electronics + Greasebucket Tone Circuit: cleanly cuts highs without artificially boosting the lows.

  • Carefully Crafted Vintage Hardware (lollipop tuners, 4-saddle steel bridge): old-school look and tuning stability.

A Fender "Golden Age" Spirit, Modernized for Today's Demands

The Fender American Professional Classic Jazz Bass follows the lineage of historic Jazz Basses, capturing the aesthetics and tonal character that made the model famous, while adding refinements designed for today's musicians. With signature finishes, familiar feel, and modern reliability, it clearly targets the professional level without sacrificing vintage charm.

For Which Bassists and Styles?

This bass is aimed at intermediate to advanced bassists seeking a versatile, expressive, and precise Jazz Bass. Thanks to the SS pickup configuration and two independent volume controls, it naturally covers funk, jazz, soul, pop, indie, and rock, with excellent ability to sit well in a mix. The Modern "C" profile facilitates both fingerstyle and pick playing, providing comfort whether walking bass lines or more aggressive riffs.

The Sound

The alder body delivers a very Fender balance: firm lows, clear mids, and present highs without harshness. The Coastline '62 single-coil pickups provide the typical Jazz Bass "growl": dynamic, attack-sensitive, and rich in nuances. By blending the two volume controls, you can go from a round, full sound to a tighter, punchier tone, perfect for cutting through the band. The Greasebucket tone circuit allows darkening the sound with control, maintaining a clean foundation-especially useful for switching from bright slap to a more muted tone in seconds.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

This bass comes with a Deluxe gig bag. For identical replacement strings, it is strung with Fender 7250M (.045-.105) long scale: a coherent choice to preserve the original feel and balance.
