Essential Information About the California Deluxe Redondo Jr. E Guitar, Walnut Fingerboard, Honey Sunburst

  • Junior Redondo body: a compact, comfortable, and travel-friendly size without sacrificing body depth or projection.

  • Solid Sitka spruce top + laminated mahogany back and sides: balance, clarity, and warmth, with excellent stability.

  • Scalloped X bracing: livelier response, precise attack, and generous sustain, ideal for fingerstyle and pick playing.

  • Stage-ready electro-acoustic: Fishman CD-1 preamp with built-in tuner and full controls (including phase) for confident amplified performance.

A Redondo Jr. Designed to Move: The California Deluxe Spirit

Developed over more than a decade, the California Deluxe Series has a clear goal: to offer modern, practical, and inspiring guitars capable of following a musician anywhere. The Redondo Jr. E perfectly embodies this philosophy with meticulous construction and a plug-and-play approach suitable for both living room and stage. Within the range, it stands out by its junior size (easier to handle) while retaining a true "California" dreadnought personality thanks to the Redondo silhouette and projection-oriented luthiery.

Who Is the California Deluxe Redondo Jr. E For?

This guitar targets a wide audience: beginners seeking a reassuring feel, intermediate players looking for a versatile and reliable instrument, and experienced musicians wanting a more compact second guitar for travel, composing, or long sets without fatigue. Its 24" / 610 mm scale length promotes a flexible feel under the fingers, particularly pleasant for chord changes, arpeggios, and pop/folk lines. With onboard electronics, it naturally suits amplified acoustic contexts: pop, folk, singer-songwriter, vocal accompaniment, and pick playing with good dynamic control.

A Balanced, Lively Sound Surprisingly "Big" for a Junior Size

The solid Sitka spruce top provides the sonic foundation: a clear attack, beautiful articulation, and dynamic range that responds equally well to fingerstyle nuances and strong strumming. The mahogany back and sides add warmth and singing mids, while their laminated construction enhances stability and consistency-a real plus when transporting the instrument or playing in varied environments.

The scalloped X bracing (carved) helps the top vibrate more freely: gaining a sense of "breathing," projection, and sustain, with a balanced output that avoids overpowering bass on a small body. The Redondo shape retains volume and punch, and the shorter scale length contributes to easier playability while maintaining a quick and musical response.

For amplified playing, the Fishman CD-1 preamp and its Volume, Bass, Treble controls allow easy sound shaping. The built-in tuner secures quick changes during rehearsals or on stage, and the phase control helps manage feedback depending on the PA and placement. Finally, the pair of Micarta nut and saddle promotes even vibration transmission, string by string, for consistent response and coherent tone across the neck.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To maintain the original balance and comfort exactly, favor a set of Phosphor Bronze acoustic strings in .011-.052 gauge (the same gauge as factory-installed): this is the safest choice to retain the same tension, dynamic response, and stable intonation.
