California Deluxe: the "road-ready" spirit in a more refined version
Designed to accompany musicians over time, the California Deluxe series embodies a modern approach to acoustic guitars: playing comfort, reliability, and a distinctive aesthetic identity. The Redondo stands out with its imposing size and recognizable silhouette, enhanced here by meticulous construction (sculpted bracing, material selection, finishes) aiming for a clear balance: plenty of voice but without heaviness, and a feeling of control under the fingers.
An acoustic for songwriting, accompaniment, and stage
Thanks to its full-size body and naturally crisp attack, this California Deluxe Redondo is particularly suited for intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking an acoustic capable of "carrying": energetic strumming, pop/rock, modern folk, country, or voice-guitar accompaniment. The neck with a Slim "C" profile and 12" radius promote smooth playing, enjoyable in both chords and picking, with a modern feel that remains comfortable during long sessions at home, rehearsals, or concerts.
Sound: warmth of mahogany and projection of a large body
The solid mahogany top immediately sets the tone: a warm timbre, with a dense and musical midrange, ideal for highlighting rhythm and supporting vocals. The laminated mahogany back and sides provide stability and help maintain a coherent sound, with good clarity when played aggressively. The scalloped X bracing (sculpted) plays a key role in the sense of response: the guitar breathes, projects easily, and maintains generous sustain, while remaining "punchy" on attacks. Add to this a Micarta nut and saddle that promote consistent vibration transfer string by string, and you get an acoustic with an earthy, full-bodied yet controlled character, capable of subtlety in fingerstyle and very solid in strumming.
Recommended compatible accessories
To stay as close as possible to the original balance, choose a set of phosphor bronze strings in gauge .011-.052 (same specs as the factory setup). For maintenance and adjustments, also plan for a 4 mm hex wrench suitable for the truss rod (specified size).
