From the Studio "68" to a Custom Shop Signature
This Stratocaster pays tribute to Michael Landau's favorite instrument, a major figure in session work since the 1980s. Based on his 1968 Strat, it features the iconic large headstock, lightweight construction, and aged nitrocellulose finish to recapture the feel, responsiveness, and comfort of late sixties models.

Designed for intermediate to expert guitarists, this Signature excels in both studio and stage settings. Its tonal palette covers rock, blues, funk, fusion, and instrumental guitar, with vintage playability ideal for nuanced work and left-hand vibrato.
Sound
The alder body provides balance and singing mids, while the rosewood fingerboard softens the highs for a round and defined tone. The Fat '50s pickups deliver the typical Strat single-coil sparkle: snappy and articulate in positions 2 and 4, percussive clarity at the bridge, and silky warmth at the neck. The wiring includes a dedicated tone control for the bridge pickup to refine the highs, and the vintage tremolo offers musical float and natural sustain without losing attack.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
Maintain the original feel with nickel-plated steel strings .009-.042 (Fender 250L type), perfectly suited to the gauge and tremolo. An adjustable electric capo compatible with a 7.25" radius will preserve intonation and comfort. Add a quality 6.35 mm instrument jack cable and a stable guitar stand. The Deluxe Hardshell case and strap are already included.

The SSS configuration combines three Fender Custom Shop Strat Fat '50s Single-Coil pickups, placed at bridge, middle, and neck positions. A 5-way selector switch gives access to the three single pickups as well as the bridge/middle and middle/neck combinations.
