A Signature Stratocaster That Has Become a Fender Range Reference

Among the most iconic signature models, the Eric Clapton Stratocaster follows the great Stratocaster tradition while adding very targeted technical choices. The idea is simple: keep the Fender DNA (attack, clarity, ergonomics) while offering immediate versatility thanks to active electronics and a setup designed for stability. The result: a Strat with a classic look but capable of going far beyond strict "vintage" sounds.

For Which Guitarist and Styles

This electric guitar is particularly aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists who want an expressive, precise Stratocaster ready for stage or studio. It excels in blues, rock, pop, funk, and all genres where right-hand nuance, dynamics, and the typical single-coil grain are sought. Its active electronics also make it very relevant for modern contexts where switching from bright cleans to thicker tones without changing instruments is needed.

The Sound

The alder body provides the classic Strat balance: present mids, clear highs, and clean lows, perfect for chords that remain defined. The maple neck and fingerboard enhance attack and precision, with a snappy feel and excellent note-to-note clarity. The SSS configuration with Vintage Noiseless Single-Coil Strat pickups retains the "Strat" character (spank, quack in intermediate positions) while limiting hum, a real plus at higher gain levels. The active electronics with Mid-Boost (up to 25 dB) thickens the mids for more singing leads and perceived enhanced sustain, while the TBX control broadens the tonal range to refine brightness. Finally, the vintage-style synchronized tremolo, here specified as blocked, promotes tuning stability and a more direct feel, close to a fixed bridge.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To stay as close as possible to the original setup, opt for electric string sets .010-.046 (nickel type) such as the Fender USA 250R Nickel Plated Steel (.010-.046). A useful consumable to have on hand: a replacement string set in .010-.046 to maintain the same tension and tonal balance.
