Highway Series: Fender's Electro-Acoustic Designed for the Modern Stage

Designed and manufactured in Ensenada, Mexico, the Fender Highway Series offers a different approach to the electro-acoustic dreadnought: a slimmed-down body and specific internal architecture designed to provide smoother playability both standing and seated, while maintaining an organic signature. The goal is clear: a guitar ready to plug in, stable in live conditions, and inspiring enough for daily songwriting.

Who Is This Ultra-Comfortable Dreadnought For?

The Fender Highway Series Dreadnought is aimed at stage guitarists, content creators, and musicians seeking a reliable and easy-to-adjust electro-acoustic. From ambitious beginners to advanced players, it is particularly suited for folk, pop, indie, country, worship, and singer-songwriter genres: plugged in, it fits easily into a mix; acoustically, it remains lively and expressive for practicing, writing, and recording demos.

Sound Characteristics

The Sitka spruce top delivers attack, controlled brightness, and a great dynamic range: ideal for chord playing as well as precise pick attacks. The chambered solid mahogany body enhances the midrange with a warm grain and direct response, while contributing to comfort thanks to the reduced thickness. The floating "X" bracing helps the top vibrate freely despite the ultra-thin body: the guitar gains projection, quick response, and sustain, with a very "immediate" playing feel.

Once plugged in, the Fishman Fluence Acoustic system delivers a clean, detailed, and stable signal, particularly reassuring against feedback. The "Contour" control allows switching from a brighter, more articulated voice to a rounder, woodier tone, useful for adapting the guitar to PA systems, style, and touch without falling into artificial coloration.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To stay close to the original gauge, prefer phosphor bronze acoustic strings 11-52. A standard strap is compatible with vintage-style strap buttons. For open position playing, an acoustic capo will work perfectly; a model suited for a 12" / 305 mm radius will help maintain even pressure across the fretboard. The included Deluxe gig bag makes adding a case humidifier advisable to stabilize the woods (spruce and mahogany), especially in winter or heated environments.
