The two independent volume controls allow fine adjustment of the pickup blend, from the sharper "bridge" tone to the fuller "neck" sound.

Sound

The alder body provides a very musical balance: present mids, clear attack, and firm lows, helping the bass cut through a mix. The Alnico 5 single-coil Jazz Bass pickups emphasize dynamics and definition: well-defined notes, a smooth yet precise high end, and the typical "growl" when pushing the bridge pickup. The Volume / Volume / Tone wiring (without a selector switch) makes tone shaping immediate: you can go from a round, deep register to a more biting attack simply by adjusting the volumes, then refine with the tone control.
