A Nod to the California Coast
Inspired by the chic city of Montecito, this model embodies Fender's "lifestyle" approach applied to the ukulele: noble materials, refined details, and a visual identity marked by the 4-in-line "Strat" headstock. Within the Fender range, the Montecito Tenor stands as a premium reference combining elegance, playing comfort, and stage performance.
For Which Musician and Styles?
Thanks to its tenor size and comfortable neck, the Montecito suits ambitious beginners as well as intermediate and advanced players. Its warm and clear response shines in pop/folk strumming, song accompaniment, Hawaiian standards, and fingerstyle, with enough headroom for amplification on stage.
Sound
Acacia (a cousin of koa) offers silky highs, singing mids, and controlled lows for a soft yet articulate tone. The fan bracing optimizes top vibration and projection, while the tenor format provides sustain and presence without harshness. Plugged in, the FE-U01 preamp faithfully reproduces the natural grain, with simple controls (volume/tone) and a built-in tuner to stay in tune in any situation.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To preserve and enhance this instrument, choose a set of tenor ukulele strings (standard tuning G-C-E-A), a tenor-sized gig bag or hard case for transport, and a tenor-compatible ukulele capo. A case humidifier solution will help stabilize the acacia against climate variations.
