A High-End Strat Designed for Modern Performance

With the American Ultra II Stratocaster, Fender offers an American Stratocaster crafted for demanding musicians: meticulous finishes, optimized ergonomics, and advanced electronics. It positions itself as a decidedly contemporary model in the Strat universe, preserving the iconic design DNA while adding refinements aimed at stage and studio use.

Who Is It For, and What Styles?

This Strat is aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists who want a reliable, precise, and comfortable guitar for long sessions. Its balance makes it formidable in funk, pop, blues, rock, and any situation where clear, articulated tones, dynamic crunch, and excellent background noise management are expected, especially with moderate to high gain.

The Sound

The selected alder body delivers a balanced spectrum, with present mids and a sharp attack, perfect for capturing the Strat snap while maintaining warmth. The ebony fingerboard enhances definition and precision, with a fast response feel that highlights licks, double-stops, and funky riffs. The SSS configuration with Ultra II Noiseless Vintage Strat pickups targets the "vintage Strat" character while minimizing hum: ideal for recording and brightly lit stages. The S-1 switch allows adding the neck pickup to positions 1 and 2, useful for thickening a bridge tone or achieving fuller combinations without losing the Strat identity. The 2-point vibrato and locking tuners contribute to solid tuning stability, even with expressive playing.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To maintain the original feel and balance, favor a set of electric strings 009-042, such as the Fender USA 250L Nickel Plated Steel (.009-.042) recommended by the manufacturer.
