A Stratocaster Designed for the Stage: The Fender Spirit, Today's Precision
Born from over six decades of Stratocaster evolution, the American Professional II continues the legacy of Fender instruments crafted for professional use. It retains the fundamentals that made the legend (versatility, dynamics, expressive vibrato), enriched with modern improvements focused on playing comfort, stability, and live performance efficiency.
For Which Guitarists and Styles?
This Stratocaster is aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists who want a reliable, expressive, and instantly familiar instrument. It excels in blues, rock, funk, pop, indie, and country, while remaining very comfortable with more modern sounds through amps and pedals. The sculpted heel and 22 narrow-tall frets facilitate solos, bendings, and playing in the upper register, even during long sessions.
The Sound
The combination of a alder body and maple neck/fretboard delivers a crisp attack, clear mids, and "snappy" highs, perfect for articulated rhythms as well as singing leads. The V-Mod II single-coil pickups are calibrated according to their position (neck, middle, bridge) to provide balanced output and consistent harmonic response across all five selector positions. The Treble Bleed circuit preserves presence when lowering the volume, ideal for cleaning up the tone without losing definition. Finally, the push-push tone control adds the neck pickup in positions 1 and 2, opening up very musical combinations (such as neck + bridge, or all three pickups) particularly useful live.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To stay close to the original gauge, a Fender USA 250L string set in 09-42 is a safe choice. The instrument comes with a molded hard case, practical for transport and daily protection.
