Essential Information About the Fender Player II Modified Stratocaster HSS, Rosewood Fingerboard, Electric Blue

  • Modern "C" Neck comfortable, with a 9.5" / 241 mm radius fingerboard and rolled fingerboard edges for a "broken-in" feel.

  • HSS Configuration: Player II Modified humbucker at the bridge + Player II Noiseless Strat single-coils (middle/neck) covering everything from crystal-clear cleans to thick overdrives.

  • Optimized Electronics: volume with treble-bleed and push/pull on Tone 2 for humbucker coil split.

  • 2-point Vibrato with steel saddles and chamfered block, plus locking tuners with short posts for improved tuning stability.

A Stratocaster Designed for Modern Playing, in the Fender Spirit

An icon since 1954, the Stratocaster has become a benchmark for versatility and ergonomics. This Player II Modified, made in Mexico, follows this tradition while adding very current improvements: quieter pickups, more flexible electronics, and performance-oriented hardware. The Electric Blue finish and black/white/black 3-ply pickguard reinforce its decidedly contemporary look.

For Whom and Which Styles?

This Fender is ideal for intermediate to advanced guitarists who want a "plug-and-play" Strat capable of handling rehearsals, studio, and stage. The HSS setup excels in pop, rock, funk, blues, and indie, while remaining comfortable in heavier styles thanks to the bridge humbucker. The 2-point vibrato and locking tuners also make it a great partner for expressive playing (vibratos, light dives) without sacrificing tuning accuracy.

Sound

The alder body delivers the typical Fender balance: present mids, good definition, and a clear attack, perfect for clean tones as well as articulate crunches. The Player II Noiseless Strat pickups (neck and middle) maintain the Strat spirit (snappy, dynamic, very "quacky" in intermediate positions) while reducing noise, especially appreciated with effects and gain. At the bridge, the Player II Modified Humbucker provides more density and sustain for riffs and leads. The coil split via push/pull on Tone 2 allows for finer, sharper textures, and the treble-bleed on the volume helps retain brightness when rolling down the gain directly on the guitar.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To stay as close as possible to the original setup, prefer nickel strings with a gauge of .009-.042, such as the factory-installed set Fender USA 250L Nickel Plated Steel (.009-.042), PN 0730250403.
