The push/push (on Tone 2) bypasses the 5-position selector to instantly return to Position 4 (neck + middle), Cory's rhythmic recipe. The vintage 6-screw tremolo adds spring and "snap," while the Master Volume with treble-bleed preserves highs when lowering the volume.
