A Telecaster Designed for the Stage, in Today's Fender Spirit
Born to meet the demands of modern guitarists, the Player II Telecaster retains the DNA of one of the most influential solid bodies in history while adopting concrete improvements in comfort and tuning stability. Positioned in the Player II series, this Tele made in Mexico aims for an excellent balance: classic Fender style, contemporary playability, and expressive electronics versatile enough to cover many genres without losing the "Tele" character.
Who Is It For? Recommended Styles and Playing Feel
This electric guitar is suited both for the intermediate player seeking a true stage-ready Tele and the advanced musician looking for a simple, effective, and inspiring instrument. The Modern "C" neck, 9.5" radius fingerboard (more versatile than a vintage radius), and 22 frets facilitate bends, open chords, tight rhythm playing, and sharp leads. Ideal for rock, country, blues, indie, funk, or pop, it excels whenever definition, attack, and a guitar that "cuts through the mix" are desired.
Sound
The Player II Telecaster is built on a proven formula: a Telecaster-style body paired with two single-coil pickups. The Player Series AlNiCo V Tele Single-Coil pickups deliver crystalline highs, musical mids, and firm lows, with the typically Fender dynamic response that reacts instantly to the pick. The 3-position selector switch allows switching from a warmer, singing neck pickup to a sharper, "twangy" bridge pickup, with an ideal middle position for balanced, snappy rhythms.
The string-through-body bridge contributes to the feel: clear attack, good note sustain, and a direct response sensation under the fingers. The 6 steel saddles (block steel saddles) add precision for intonation while preserving the energy and projection typical of the Tele design. Finally, the chambered ash body often provides a more open resonance and a more present vibration sensation, enhancing the instrument's lively character, especially in clean and crunch tones.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To transport and protect this standard-format Telecaster, Fender recommends a Classic Series Stratocaster/Telecaster Wood Hardshell Case (not included) as well as a FE1225 Electric Guitar Gig Bag (not included). For routine maintenance, you can stick with the original gauge Fender USA 250L strings in .009-.042 (Nickel Plated Steel) if you prefer a soft feel and easy bends. The guitar comes with a 3/16" Allen wrench for truss rod adjustment.
